Easter Message from the Pastor

Again, the season of Lent we have just completed, and these Easter celebrations are like none other we have ever experienced. This has been an added time of reflection for me as I recover from my heart surgery and look to returning to parish ministry.  Although this will not happen for a few weeks yet, I am challenged more than ever to have patience with myself and the process of healing. During this recovery time, I must take this opportunity to thank all those who have been praying for my recovery, who have sent cards and words of support and encouragement, and those who have provided transportation for my medical appointments. This support has been overwhelming and humbling. And through that experience I can be thankful for the place I find myself in at this particular time in my life. During this Holy Week, although COVID restrictions have limited the number of people who can attend any individual service, we are fortunate that with the technology, we are still able to provide the live-streaming for those who are unable to attend. As a parish we are extremely blessed by the number of parishioners who have stepped up to the plate in generously contributing their time and talents in the various ministries during our Holy Week liturgies. We take this opportunity also to sincerely thank Frs. John Lacey, Martin Carter, and Chris Sherren for their dedication in making themselves available for our Daily and weekend liturgies during these past couple of months.  As well, I owe a debt of gratitude to our parish staff who have, in my absence, shouldered the burden of organizing and executing each and every aspect of what is involved behind the scenes that enables this parish to function on a daily basis. As your pastor, I extend to each of you the blessings of this Easter season and I pray that the Risen Lord may touch each of you with His peace and love. Happy Easter to all!!!
