This bill would amend the Criminal Code so that mental illness alone would not qualify a person for Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD). The Help Not Harm campaign has been created to encourage Canadians to contact their Member of Parliament and ask for support of Bill C-218. According to the campaign website, this can be done in just a few minutes through an online portal.

We are asking our parishioners to support this campaign by visiting: www.helpnotharmcanada.ca The website provides a simple way for individuals to send a message to their MP in support of Bill C-218.

The campaign materials intentionally use public-policy language rather than specifically religious language so that the message may be shared broadly.
